SNATCH
A quarterly magazine about fashion in the realm of drag.
Snatch magazine is a quarterly fashion magazine created for the world of drag. “Snatch” is slang within the drag community that expresses how good one looks. For example, “Gurl, I am SNATCHED today!” I thought this would be the perfect title as it also is a double entendre for certain female anatomy. This magazine has a noir cabaret feel, from the fishnet spine to the kinky boot table of contents, that embodies the sensuality of this queer art form. The masthead is created from iconography of both traditionally masculine and feminine items ideas to play into the androgyny of the magazine. My main body article is about power under garments and atomic age jewelry. This inspired the feel of the article to be more retro and include fonts like Mrs. Eaves and atomic age duotones to fill the spreads. This magazine, conceptually, will come out each season with new fashion trends as well as current events happening in the world of drag.
